I had all these plans to start blogging again - sharing stuff about vacation, pictures, even discussing with my few and faithful readers about doing a series - but I had a set back...
I got the flu - possibly H1N1 - oh yah - awesome, I know!
I had been having a wonderful weekend. I had choir practice on Saturday morning and was thrilled - but after that, it all went down hill. I got home and enjoyed myself a tuna sub from Subway - and literally like 30 minutes after that - my stomach began hurting and it wasn't like a little twinge of pain - I mean, double over, crying pain. I did not however throw up - weird.
It got worse as the night went on. My body started going weak, I began to run a small fever and it stunk. I went to bed early - like 9 pm early. I woke up Sunday and made the decision to NOT go to church, which I am sure everyone is thankful for. I spent most of the day sunday on the couch doing as little as possible, hacking, coughing, fever getting worse, so sore I could barely pick up Parker. I got continually worse - never actually tossing my cookies. At this point I knew I had more than what I thought was food poisoning.
Yesterday morning I took myself to urgent care - and it was confirmed that I do in fact have the flu. Since I had gone to the doctor within the first 48 hours, they could have done a rapid flu test, but they chose not to because they are not always super accurate. So they chose to handle it as if I had H1N1 - better safe than sorry. Since my fever had been high and I had more than the normal flu symptoms, it was a pretty safe bet that I did indeed have it, but nothing was confirmed. I did get to wear a cool mask over my face! :) Anyways, they put me on Tamiflu, some cough syrup and even an inhaler (for cough - thought that was weird, haven't even needed it!) I have been down and out all weekend and I am not allowed to be out and about until tomorrow at-least. I am choosing to stay in until Saturday when I have something I am going to. Since I haven't had a fever for a day now, and if I remain without a fever through tomorrow, I should be ok, but I don't want to risk it.
So yah, here I was all like, I won't get sick, I will be ok - I don't need a flu vaccine...blah blah blah - NOT SO MUCH.
I have really never felt this horrible in my entire life.
Go get your flu shots y'all! This is nothing to mess with! :(

All 5 of us were deathly ill for 10 days in January 2008. It. Was. Awful. I don't ever, ever, ever want to be that sick ever again.
Hugs.
Sorry to hear that you're sick...hope you are feeling better soon. H1N1 sounds like an awful flu to have.
