We are proud parents of a child who was born prematurely almost 3 years ago. Parker was born on May 29 , 2008 at 29 week 2 days gestation (almost 3 month early!) He weighed in at a whopping 2lbs 3 ozs and was 14.5 inches long. For the whole story, you can click on the picture of him on the left (its the one of him as a newborn...can't miss it!) 

Anyways, we are avid supporters of The March of Dimes. This organization brings prematurity awareness into the nation and helps to raise funds in hope that one day all babies will be born healthy. We have been supporting them now for as long as we have had Parker. 

In April of 2009 we even did our first March for Babies walk. It was fun (and hot and I got sick) and was well worth it. Last year we unfortunately could not participate because of a prior commitment, but we are back. We are walking in honor of our little dude (who isn't so little anymore...) and would like to ask you a few things!

1) Will you consider joining our team if you live in this area? We'd love to have you walk with us. This years walk is on May 1, 2011 here in Columbus in the Easton area.

2) Will you consider donating to our team fundraising goals? I'd love to be able to raise money to put into research towards ending prematurity. 

3) Would you simply just pray. Pray for those who have preemies or may have preemies. Pray for NICU nurses, doctors, staff as they heal this precious blessings. Pray for parents who are parents of preemies...it is not always easy. And Pray for Parker, he's come a long way and we are thrilled, but we certainly want him to continue to grow and keep on track and gain weight...he'll be 3 in may in weight a mere 23 lbs!
