Top 10 of 2010 - Yumminess!

Happy Tuesday everyone. Starting today and for the rest of the Tuesdays in 2010 I will be doing my Top 10 of 2010 list. Today's list is all about food - foods I have discovered this year, rediscovered, made for the first time...ect. Hopefully this doesn't make any of you too hungry. These are truly in no particular order other than, this is how I wrote them down.

1) Sloppy Jane
Specifically Hungry Girl's recipe. It's super easy, low-ish points and so darn good. I am a fan of sweet sloppy joes and this one is sweet (though not too sweet). It's home made, no canned mix needed and you can make it to your liking. It's a regular on our kitchen table!

2) Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper
I love Dr. Pepper, I dare say next to Diet Coke it is in fact my most favorite soda. This year I discovered Diet Cherry Dr. P and was blown away. Seriously, I did not think Dr. Pepper could GET even better, but oh it did. Yah, it's cherryliciousness I tell ya.

3) Jolly Time Kettle Corn
I don't like popcorn much...never have been a huge fan, until I found this at Meijer. First of all, one small bag is 1 pt. and it is filling. Second, it's so good, it's salted and sweet and smells delightful. It's one of my most favorite snacks!

4) Starbucks: Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Peppermint Mocha & Caramel Brulee Latte...
I discovered that maybe coffee isn't so bad after all, if it comes in the form of either a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte or something along those lines. I am addicted to them...all of them and also their Salted Caramel HoCho's (10 bonus points if anyone knows where I got this word from!) I am quickly becoming an addict like my husband, he has is own GOLD starbucks gift card, which his name on it...I'm catching up and will soon have my own at this rate. (P.S. got the word hocho from Gilmore Girls!)

5) Tilapia
I have never been a huge fish/seafood fan...but this year I really got into and started liking Tilapia, perhaps because it's low points for weight watchers, perhaps because my tastes do change at times. Whatever the reason, I am thankful for another delicious type of food to eat. It's one small step in the seafood/fish realm, just don't expect me to put lobster or any of those gross things on my list anytime soon!

6) Tyson Honey Battered Chicken Breast Tenders
Just bought these for the first time this week. Parker is constantly requesting chicken nuggets...that's all he eats right now mostly and tyson happened to be having a pretty decent sale, so I got a box of regular and a box of these. Let me tell you, if I weren't on a diet, I'd probably have eaten the whole box by now, they are incredible, they are just sweet enough that it's not annoying and they are so juicy! Parker loves them too....which wasn't too hard to convince him of!

7) Mighty Taco

So for those of you not in NY or where they have this, it's kinda like taco bell, only 1 million times better! They have some of the best freaking taco's I have ever had. And I only just realized this. We used to live in Buffalo and the whole year we lived there (plus anytime we've been back) I have *sorta* made fun of the name. But this year on vacation I decided you know what, I am gonna have us go there and eat. And thats when the heavens opened up and taco yumminess flooded my mouth. I may never go back to taco bell thanks to Mighty Taco, but im ok with that!

8) Weight Watchers Giant Fudge Bars
Another amazing treat for me! I love them, they are huge and only 1 pt. YES PLEASE!

9) Sandwich Thins
I don't know what I would do without these. See I love sandwiches and as you saw on my first item, I love sloppy joes. But I can't have a lot of bread and also, don't really like it that much (buns annoy me how bready they can get. I started eating these and loved them. I love them in the morning with an egg and cheese in them, I love them with my sloppy joe recipe, I love them with just butter or just toasted. Yummy!

10) Mint M&Ms

They are finally back on shelves and I must go stock up! These are a holiday thing Drew and I found a couple years ago. We became quickly obsessed but its kinda annoying that they are only holiday m&m's. But I do plan to go buy some and stock up, after all, they make me happy and they are a splurge!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope this was fun to read. I will do another Top 10 of 2010 next Tuesday...I will post later this week on what the topic will be...

Tomorrow I will post a couple of recipes that I love since Thursday is Thanksgiving! Happy Turkey Day friends!

I totally hear you on the "holiday" food items - I love the mint M&Ms, but also diet cranberry sierra mist. The cranberry sierra mist only comes out at Thanksgiving/Christmas and the stores usually only have a couple packages so yesterday I spent over an hour looking for two 12-packs of it! I got hungry just reading your post...everything sounds soooo good!
