I'm No Michelle Kwan...

Oh, the dreams I had growing up. Especially during the winter olympics...I was all about it. And all I wanted to watch was figure skating. Especially the women's.

I was all about Nancy Kerrigan, Kristy Yamiguchi, Michelle Kwan....so on, so on...

And after I watched them perform, the next morning...I'd be out in our backyard on the ice rink that was created in a large whole we had.

Now on the ice - Denise Deerwester of the USA. She's performing to "The Song in my Head." Oh yah and I'd start...and I'd do my triple axels and loops (other wise known as me jumping just a bit off the ice straight up...it's all I could do.) And my camel spins...or not so much. I'd end and break down in tears at how wonderful I had just done. I could faintly hear that chanting of USA, USA - in my head atleast) and I would go to my spot to get my scores... All perfect tens thankyouverymuch.

I had a dream....no it never came true, but I'd still like to think that I could go out there and get a perfect score and kick some booty on the ice.

Except that I hate the cold weather now...and I have no desire to really be out. Though I do miss ice skating!

You don't want to know what I did during the summer Olympics and my "gymnastics." Seriously...I think you'd have night mares!

That was a really cute post! I've had ice-skating dreams myself. It just looks so amazing! But ... ice is really hard. I don't think there is anyway I would ever do something where I'd probably fall on hard ice a LOT during practice. :)

I think every little girl dreams about being a figure skater after watching the women do it on the olympics! But once I tried, I couldn't believe how heavy the skates were and I couldn't lift it very high. I still can't believe how talented they are!

I wanted to be an ice skater too! Unfortunately, usually I only managed to fall down.

Oh, I totally hear you on this post, and it brings back pleasant memories and puts a smile on my face. I always wanted to be a gymnast or an ice-skater too! My mother had actually done some drill-skating in high school and could skate backward and twirl, so I always dreamed I would one day step out onto the ice and be able to do that too, although I only ice-skated once or twice a year if that. Usually I fell down right about the time I stepped onto the ice, and my ankles wobbled horribly in skates but that was beside the point, really :-). Oh well. Truthfully, my brother got what athletic talent there was in the family and me...well, uncoordinated is being generous as far as my athletic ability. But I suppose that's what the olympics is for - the chance to dream. Thanks for an awesome post!
