Meme Friday #5

Another Friday Meme Day!!!!

I am not a huge fan of reading. I was in elementary school, but as I got older, it became more of a annoyance to me rather than an enjoyment. Maybe that's because I was never interested in the books we had to read for reports or classes, but at some point I went from loving reading to not wanting to do it at all. Recently though, I have started to like it again. Now, I am picky about what I read as I want it to keep my attention, teach me something, and make me laugh.

This all started when I met my dear friend Marla. She is an author and her books are super easy, fun, and an enjoyment to read. I met her through my husband, he knew her and her husband through working at a church camp together. We moved to central ohio the same time they moved back and I got to meet them. Marla is a very open and honest lady and a great inspiration to me (stop blushing Marla!). Her books have seriously renewed my love of reading.

I like Christian books a lot! A few of my favs are Radical, Me, Myself and Bob, Taking Care of the Me in Mommy and For Women Only. Here is my question for you -

What are some of your favorite books to read? Have any good recommendations?

Your turn. Ask a question on your blog, head over to An Island Life and link up! This is a great way to meet new bloggers! :)

1. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Candy Corn, but I don't eat it much...

2. Do you fold your socks?
Yah I do.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
Hmmmm, Probably that curly hair is frustrating....

4. What is the most significant difference between you and your significant other?
He's a reader and super tech savvy, I am not. I do read some, but my hubby reads ALOT and he works for Apple...

5. What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
My answers: Sensitive, Caring, Procrastinator
Hubby's Answers: Cute, Playful, Caring
(Playful, really?)

Your turn, answer the above 5 questions and then head over to My Little Life and link up! It's another GREAT way to meet new bloggy friends!

I've read mostly parenting and homeschooing books lately. Last book I read for pleasure was Summer At Tiffany by Marjorie Hart. A true story of a summer she spent working at Tiffany in NY with a girlfriend. Cute, sweet and entertaining.

You might like Lamb by Christopher Moore - it's one of my favorites.

My favorite genre is fast paced mystery/suspense. Am a big James Patterson, Lisa Jackson fan. And recently, through request reviews, a semi-new author Vincent Zandri, highly recommend his books.

I love reading and there are so many great books out there.

If I was to recommend books, I'd have to choose the Left Behind Series.

I will have to check out these books you listed.

Right now I'm doing a bible study book from Lysa Tekeurst - How to be more than a good bible study girl.

And I just bought the scarlet letter for 24cents :) So I'm not sure what to recommend.

I hope you find something very good.

Well, first off thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you enjoyed it. Second off I'm not an avid book reader, but there was one that I read a long time ago called, "Flowers in the Attic" if you like a good mystery. I also have a new meme, "Monday's Music Moves Me" hope you stop by and check it out and maybe even play along. It's tons of fun! Have a great weekend.

Oh, and I'm your latest follower, and I also like (some) Stephen King books.

When I'm not reading nursing textbooks, I usually read historical mysteries (my rule is that the book should read easily enough that I can read it while I'm running in the mornings on the treadmill, since this is one of the only times I get a chance to free read these days). As far as Christian books, one of my favorites is Liz Curtis Higgs' "Thorn in my Heart" series...it's the Jacob/Leah/Rachel story set in 1700s Scotland and I just really enjoyed it. My current favorite mystery series is actually set in modern Quebec and is by Louise Penny.

And I totally hear you on the curly hair thing...:-).

My favorite series is Twilight but you have to have a desire to read them.
