The other thing that my friend's post got me thinking about was tea cups. I grew up living with my grandparents and often my grandma would have Home Ec. club at our house. My most favorite thing about it (because really it wasn't that interesting otherwise) was how she would serve hot tea. Over the years she's collected many many tea cups and saucers and she would use those only on that occasion over the years for her guests. Now I don't even really like hot tea, but I adored looking all the different tea cups she has. Using them made me feel special, like royalty or something. She has I would say close to 25 -30 probably (maybe more...I am a bad guesser) and I told her last time I was in town that I loved her collection and that if she ever wanted to pass it down to me, I'd take it in a heart beat. Would I use them, nope, probably not, but they would bring me great joy and awesome memories of growing up. I actually started my own collection (and by collection I mean I have one tea cup and saucer!) and hope for it to grow. It's hard living in an apartment because I don't have good space to really keep breakables (especially not with a 2 yr old!) But my hope is to collect tea cups as well.

Just looking at it makes me want to do drink some hot tea....but I won't :)

That hutch in the picture looks exactly like my mom's. When I made it bigger, the dishes and decorations even look similar too! :)
I love hutches too. And one day (since I am the oldest girl) I get mom's....if I don't have one of my own by then! :)
